Personalised Paediatric Care
Specialist Assessment and Advice for Children
Our paediatric service is led by Dr Basheer Peer-Mohamed, a senior consultant paediatrician with experience in paediatric neurology, respiratory medicine, allergies and gastrointestinal problems affecting children. He has worked as a consultant at Milton Keynes University Hospital since 2011 and has extensive experience in paediatric education and training.

During an appointment, Dr Peer-Mohamed will discuss your child's symptoms, medical history and any concerns you may have. Depending on the reason for your visit, an assessment may include a physical examination and, where appropriate, consideration of your child's development. He can explain his findings, discuss possible investigations and recommend suitable treatment or onward referral where needed. Any tests or treatments that cannot be provided at Alician will need to be arranged through an appropriate external service.
Neurological Concerns
Neurological problems affect the brain, nerves and muscles. A consultation may help assess concerns such as epilepsy, developmental difficulties, neuromuscular symptoms or other neurological conditions affecting your child.
Headaches in Children
Recurring headaches can affect a child's comfort, sleep, school attendance and everyday activities. A paediatric assessment can help explore possible causes, identify concerns that need further investigation and discuss suitable management.
Childhood Allergies
Allergies can cause symptoms affecting the skin, breathing or digestive system. A consultation can help explore your child's symptoms, consider possible triggers and discuss whether allergy testing or specialist onward assessment may be appropriate.
Abdominal Pain and Gut Problems
Ongoing tummy pain, constipation and other digestive symptoms can be distressing for children and their families. An assessment can help explore possible causes and identify appropriate advice, investigations or further care.
Respiratory Problems and Chronic Cough
Persistent coughing or other breathing-related symptoms can have several possible causes. A paediatric consultation can help assess your child's symptoms and determine whether further investigations or specialist respiratory care are needed.
Asthma and Breathing Difficulties
If your child has symptoms such as wheezing, coughing or recurring breathing difficulties, a consultation can help assess their history and discuss appropriate management or further assessment.
Why Choose Private Healthcare for paediatric services

What to expect
What Happens at a Paediatric Appointment?
Before your appointment, it can be helpful to note your child's symptoms, when they started, any patterns you have noticed and any medication they take. Please bring details of relevant previous assessments or investigations if available.
During the consultation, Dr Peer-Mohamed will listen to your concerns, take a relevant medical history and assess your child according to their symptoms and needs. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss any worries.
Afterwards, he will explain his findings and recommended next steps, which may include advice, treatment recommendations, further investigations or referral to another specialist. Follow-up arrangements will depend on your child's individual needs.

Miss Alison Hunt treated my husband today for an infection of his eardrum. She was extremely professional with a kind reassuring manner, taking great care to listen to him and he was confident being treated for this debilitating condition.
Fab service. So utterly brilliant with our daughter, all doctor fears removed. Thank you!
Recommended to go to Alician to see an ENT Consultant. Professional, knowledgeable and friendly.
I had a recent ENT appointment with Miss Hunt, and I couldn’t be happier with the care I received. She took the time to fully understand my problem and recommended an ointment that has finally resolved an issue I’ve been struggling with for three years. Highly recommend her expertise and thorough approach!
Reception staff are friendly and efficient. My appointment ran on time and the consultant was very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend this healthcare provider.
I met the receptionist Jasmine and Dr Umar. Both were welcoming and my consultation was very thorough, and a pleasant experience. Thank you.
Very well looked after. Nothing too much trouble for Alison. Seemed very thorough and explained everything with great patience. Many thanks!
Excellent place all round. Kind and supportive. Clean and comfortable. Thoroughly recommend.
I was quite nervous about the procedure I was having but Natalie put my mind at ease instantly. She explained everything and chatted to me throughout the whole process which was very reassuring. A beautiful clinic with plenty of parking. So pleased I chose Alician.
