Dr. Sarah Aturia is a highly experienced Consultant in Anaesthetics and Pain Medicine, with a special interest in the management of musculoskeletal, joint, back, neck, neuropathic, pelvic, post-surgical pain, as well as Fibromyalgia. Dr Aturia understands the profound impact that persistent pain can have on daily life, often with far-reaching and distressing consequences. She is skilled in performing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic pain interventions - both minor and advanced- using X-ray or
ultrasound guidance. These procedures offer vital windows of relief, enabling patients to re-engage with physiotherapy, tailored exercise programmes, day-to-day activities, and even sports. Her treatment plans also include expert guidance on the rational use of medications.
She holds practicing privileges at several respected institutions, including Alician, The Saxon
Clinic, The Manor Hospital, The Chiltern Hospital, and The Shelburne Hospital.

Dr Aturia received her higher specialist training at the Oxford School of Anaesthesia, where she earned her FRCA and FFPMRCA qualifications and completed a prestigious Pain Fellowship at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in Queensland in Australia.

For nearly fourteen years, Dr Aturia has played a leading role in shaping and delivering high-quality pain services in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. She has actively led and collaborated on numerous clinical initiatives that have positively impacted both individual
patients and the broader community.

Her philosophy is centred on individualised, evidence-based pain management, employing a range of therapeutic techniques to optimise rehabilitation and physiotherapy, restore function, and ultimately support patients in returning to the activities and experiences that matter most
to them.

In addition, Dr Aturia holds The Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) Expert Witness Civil Certificate (2023). She provides reports and offers an individualised and tailored plan for medico-legal patients requiring pain management. Dr Aturia is a lecturer for GPs, Essential Pain Management (EPM) programme delivered to undergraduates at the University of Buckingham Medical School and doctors in training.
